Frequently Asked Questions

What types of vessels do you support?

We work with commercial ships, offshore units, workboats, patrol craft and vessels under 24 m requiring CE/RCD compliance.

What is STANAG compliance and how can a vessel be dual-purpose?

STANAG compliance means a vessel meets specific NATO standards for safety, performance and interoperability—commonly used for patrol, government and specialised craft. A vessel becomes “dual-purpose” when it is designed and documented to meet more than one operational standard (for example CE/Workboat Code for commercial use and STANAG requirements for government or defence tasks), allowing it to perform multiple roles safely and legally.

What is UR E26/E27 cyber compliance?

UR E26 and E27 are IACS rules for cyber resilience of vessels. They cover onboard systems, data integrity, and incident readiness. ENPLO audits and implements compliance.

Do you work internationally?

Yes. ENPLO is based in Bristol, UK, and most of our engineering and documentation services are delivered online to clients worldwide. We also travel for on-site work when required — our CE Inspector, Despina Karanta, conducts CE inspections globally.
